22 weeks

I am all caught up with the blog...now everything should be closer to real-time! We started the 22nd week on Friday...it is starting to go by MUCH faster. I feel like I have grown a lot in 6 days!

Tracking the belly...

So now is the time to start watching my belly grow...we are at 21 weeks here.

We are having a...

BOY!
We found out in February that our little addition will be a baby boy! Everything looks great with the baby! Ken is VERY glad the first trimester is long gone. I am feeling much better and I am generally a much nicer person these days! I had told my parents that we were finding out a week later than the actual date. My mom had planned a trip in town and I wanted to be able to surprise her with the news in person. She was thrilled, even though she had been positive that we were having a girl. Here are some pictures from the surprise...

Surprise, Ken...we are going to Chicago! Sept. 2007

Nicole and Ryan Hockin are dear friends of ours...Nicole and I cooked up a plan to surprise Ken and Ryan and all meet in Chicago for the weekend this past September. Ken was such a great sport- all I told him was that we had plans for that Friday and that he would need to take the day off. The morning we left, he agreed to leave the house for about an hour as I finished getting ready. I had put our suitcases in the trunk, so when we pulled up to the airport, he assumed we were going on a day trip. Soon enough he learned our plans, but he still had no clue we would be meeting Nicole and Ryan when we arrived! We got to Chicago and "just happened" to run into the Hockins at a pizza place! We all had such a great time!

Oh, look who is here eating pizza- what a surprise!

Africa- July 2007

Ken and I were so humbled that we had the chance to go to Zambia, Africa last summer. The first part of our adventure was an excursion trip that we were able to add on. We traveled to Victoria Falls and were able to experience some amazing things, i.e, going on a safari, riding elephants, and seeing the breathtaking natural wonder, Victoria Falls. The second part of the trip was a mission trip that focused bringing the hope of Christ and simply loving on AIDS orphans and vulnerable children in Zambia. Many of you made it possible for us to go, and for that, we are forever grateful. It was an experience that we will never forget and look forward to returning with Family Legacy in the future. Jenn's boys coloring. They LOVED coloring...many of them had never colored before and would have been content coloring all day.

Baby Nandi flirting with Ken.

Ken chose to do a "gorge swing" near Victoria Falls. It was about a 300 ft. gorge and they said it was more of a "free fall" than bungee jumping- CRAZY!!! I could barely watch. Also, most people go backwards, which is not as scary...however, you see how Ken jumped!

On the water portion of the safari.

Canoin'

A fun overnight trip we took last May was with Will and Meredith. On a whim, Ken decided that the Brazos River would be flowing nicely because of all the rain we had. So we talked Will and Meredith into skipping town and heading to Mineral Wells for the night. The only other canoing experience Ken and I had together ended up with me in the Trinity River- YUCK. This trip proved to be MUCH better...even though Will and Meredith were competing the entire time for a first place finish.

Our Wedding- December 2, 2006

Ken and I were married in Fredericksburg, which is nestled in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Many of you were able to share in this most special day for us. All the pictures from the wedding were taken by our amazing photographer Pam Lary.

We had to throw in a picture of the two dogs...the reason we met! Mollie and Aspen are dear to our hearts and we know they will be excited with with new addition to our family!

What an amazing trip! Ken and I traveled to Italy in May 2006 with a great friend of ours, Michelle. We spent time in Florence, Sienna, Cinque Terre, and Rome. We love reminiscing about this trip and look forward to returning someday! Here are a few pictures...
